The Human Face of a Global Business Sector

The 7th edition of the ESPO Conference was held in Helsinki on 27-28 May 2010. More than 200 delegates participated in active discussions on the societal integration of ports and the role of port employment and labour. This theme covers a broad range of topics associated with the 2007 EU Ports Policy Communication, including the port image, city-port dialogue, training and education as well as living and working conditions. The programme featured a number of hands-on sessions covering port experience and communication, educational partnerships, urban logistics as well as port labour. At the conference ESPO presented a new Code of Practice on Societal Integration of Ports and a report on dock labour and port-related employment.


The ESPO 2010 Conference was organised in close co-operation with the Port of Helsinki and the Finnish Port Association.
