This year marks the 16th edition of the ESPO Award on Social Integration of Ports. The theme focuses on “port projects or strategies in the field of circular economy that benefit the city and/or the surrounding community.” So, don’t let this opportunity pass you by - submit your project by 5 July 2024!
The ESPO Award 2024 will honour the port managing body that prioritizes circularity at various levels and as an integral part part of its greening strategy. The winning project will be one that engages all relevant stakeholders in a circular approach to benefit both citizens and the surrounding community.
In line with the European Green Deal's circular economy action plan, this award recognizes ports for their role in fostering sustainable growth, creating jobs, and meeting the EU’s climate goals. Don’t miss out on the chance to inspire others by highlighting your port’s contributions to a sustainable future!
Submit your projects to the ESPO Secretariat by 5 July 2024. The application form and terms of reference are available on the ESPO website.
The ESPO award winner 2024 will be announced at the traditional ESPO award ceremony and dinner taking place on 6 November at the Albert Hall in Brussels.
The award is a painting from the new series “Colours of ESPO” by the Dutch port painter Sasja Hagens. Additionally, this year’s winning port will be offered an In-Port Vessel Emissions Report by PortXchange, which provides crucial data for ports to assess environmental impact, ensure CSRD regulatory compliance, develop emission reduction strategies, and enhance sustainability and reputation.
So, plenty of reasons to apply for the ESPO award 2024!
