Ports of Cork and Amsterdam in a MoU on green hydrogen from offshore wind
27 September 2022
The Port of Cork and the Port of Amsterdam
signed a memorandum of understanding with Ireland’s first green hydrogen
company. Indeed, Ireland planned an additional 2GW of offshore wind
specifically for green hydrogen production. The strategically located
facilities at the port of Cork will enable it to become a renewable energy
exporter hub. The Port of Amsterdam will receive the hydrogen and make it available
to the large industrial clusters in Amsterdam, as well as serve as a gateway
to the European hinterland. A supply chain for green hydrogen will then be
established between Ireland and Europe via the Port of Amsterdam.
