Port of Vigo: Fish Market 4.0

In order to improve energy efficiency of the harbour market – and thus reduce energy costs – the Port Authority of Vigo has renovated the fish market building, insulating it and fitting it with energy efficient LED lighting. Likewise, a smart grid system for managing electrical efficiency has been implemented, and a photovoltaic renewable energy system has been installed to provide clean energy. The new building design includes an energy storage system for night consumption and makes use of marine geothermal energy to diversity the clean energy supply.
