With this agreement, blue ammonia produced in Northern Norway from natural gas with carbon capture and storage would be shipped to the Port of Rotterdam, where it would then be distributed in the North-West of Europe.

The final investment decision for the production of blue ammonia at Horisont Energi’s project is expected at the end of 2022 and blue ammonia could be shipped to Rotterdam by 2025. 3000t of ammonia will be produced per day.
