Construction of offshore wind infrastructure begins at Klaipeda port

Lithuania is actively preparing to develop offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea in order to develop sustainable energy sources and increase the country's energy independence. That is why Klaipeda State Seaport Authority and Klaipeda Sea Cargo Company (Klasco) have signed an agreement to invest in developing the port infrastructure needed to support the planned development of offshore wind farms. Under the terms of the agreement, the Port Authority is committed to providing the infrastructure on the Smelte peninsula to enable the development of production, assembly or storage activities for offshore wind turbines and their components.
