A green hydrogen logistic maritime corridor to connect Port of Sines and Port of Rotterdam

14 February 2023

Four companies have agreed on the development of a green hydrogen logistics maritime corridor. It will link the ports of Sines in Portugal and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Green hydrogen will be produced on a unit located in Sines. It will then be converted to liquefied hydrogen, and a dedicated liquid hydrogen carrier will export it to Rotterdam. The first shipment of liquid hydrogen is expected to be delivered by 2028. Hydrogen is intended to be used to fuel heavy transport.
