Construction of a solar farm at Valuepark Terneuzen

10 September 2021

North Sea Port is supporting efforts to increase the sustainability of Zeeland’s energy supply with the construction of a 60MW solar farm at Valuepark Terneuzen that will generate solar power for over 14,000 households. The farm will generate more than 56 million KWh per year, which equates to 22,600 tonnes of CO2 saved annually, and will be the largest in Zeeland and in the North Sea Port area.

North Sea Port wishes to make the Mosselbanken site even more attractive to new businesses thanks to green power. Generating green electricity in the region will also assist in the production of green hydrogen. The farm should be operational in November 2021 and, together with the energy transition and climate objectives, will anchor business activity and employment in the port area.
