Energy Efficiency Projects of the Port of Valencia

The Valenciaport cluster has been actively involved for almost a decade in energy efficiency projects aiming to reduce fuel consumption. In cooperation with leading equipment manufacturers such as Terberg, Hyster-Yale, and Paceco, the terminals in the Port of Valencia, the Port Authority of Valencia and Fundación Valenciaport have developed a range of energy efficient designs, including prototypes of LNG and electrified terminal tractors, eco-diesel RTG and reach stackers, a terminal carbon footprint sensor network, HDG RTG, hybrid full LNG-electric reach stackers, automated lighting systems and more besides. These prototypes have been tested in real life operations in the Valenciaport terminals and most of them are now part of the commercial portfolio of equipment manufacturers.
