France's first offshore solar farm in the port of Sète

27 April 2023

Two offshore floating solar units have been deployed in the Mediterranean Sea as part of the Sun'Sète project, which aims to provide clean electricity to the Port of Sète, France's top ten ports. The first units of the Sun’Sète project were launched in mid-March 2023. The Sun'Sète project consists of several successive phases. In its final form, it will comprise 25 units with a total installed capacity of 300 kWp and a surface area of half a hectare. The remaining units are expected to be installed by the end of 2023. The estimated production will then be 400 MWh/year and will be transported by a submarine cable to supply renewable electricity to the infrastructures of the port of Sète.
