World's largest bio-LNG plant to be built in Port of Amsterdam

12 December 2022

The world's largest liquified biomethane (LBM) plant is being built in the port of Amsterdam by Dutch low-carbon fuel supplier Titan. The plant will be able to produce 200,000 tonnes of LBM per year. The port's strategic location will supply ships and trucks. Titan has secured contracts with BioValue for biogas supply and with Linde for engineering. This collaboration aims to significantly reduce emissions by using bio-LNG and is in line with the port's sustainable energy objectives. The project meets EU standards, uses sustainable feedstocks and incorporates CO2 capture and a hydrogen-ready design to facilitate future sustainable fuel production.
