Launch of ESPO's Environmental Report 2020 - 10 November, 11:30

An exclusive presentation of the 2020 Environmental Report will be provided by Valter Selén, Senior Policy Advisor and EcoPorts Coordinator who will kick off the session, followed by a short exchange of views between ESPO Secretary General Isabelle Ryckbost and special invited guests: Eamonn O’Reilly, ESPO Chairman and Chief Executive of the Port of Dublin; Daniel Mes, Member of Cabinet of European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans; and Rosa Mari Darbra, Associate Professor at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia, and EcoPorts Coordinator. Closing the event, the GreenPort Cruise & Congress 2021 will hand over to the Port of Piraeus who will host next year’s meeting.

The 2020 Environmental Report details the environmental performance of European sea ports. It provides the answer to, amongst other things:

  • How are ports improving their environmental performance over time?
  • What are the priorities of European ports?
  • How many European ports are currently providing onshore power supply and LNG infrastructure?


ESPO Award Winner Announcement 2020 - 10 November, 18:00

Be the first to know the winner of the 12th edition of the ESPO Award. Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport, will announce the winner during a special virtual Ceremony on 10 November at 6 pm.

The theme of the ESPO Award 2020 is "Enhancing the port-city relationship by encouraging innovators and local start-ups to be part of the port ecosystem".

Out of the seven submissions received this year, the projects of Algeciras Port Authority (Spain), Port of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Port Authority of Lisbon (Portugal) and Puertos del Estado (Spain) have been shortlisted by the ESPO Award Jury, chaired by Pat Cox, former President of the European Parliament and TEN-T Coordinator.
