PORTOPIA conference on “Port Industry Performance: Recent Advances” (23 March, Lisbon)

01 March 2016

The PORTOPIA consortium invites experts and stakeholders of the port industry to reflect upon the performance of the port industry in the EU, and the further need to develop performance insights on the industry level. A one-day event is organized in Lisbon on March 23rd, 2016, which can be combined with an IAPH-PIANC event on the stakeholder consultation of guidelines for port sustainability reporting the day before (March 22nd). A 2-day programme is thus offered to participants, offering excellent networking opportunities.

During the conference the PORTOPIA results, the tools developed and lessons learned to date are going to be presented and discussed with the participants. In addition, the PORTOPIA Sustainability Report is going to be officially released. The report will be summarising port performance data of the sector as a whole and reflecting on trends over time in selected fields of interest. Furthermore, there will be dedicated parallel working sessions and the participants will also have the opportunity to visualize and test the new services that are being integrating in the PORTOPIA platform including the upgraded Rapid Exchange System.

The expected audience are experts and stakeholders in port performance measurement, both from the public and private sector, trade associations and knowledge institutions.
