Kurt Bodewig has been appointed as new Motorways of the Sea Coordinator

The European Sea Ports Organisation congratulates Prof. Kurt Bodewig on his nomination as European Coordinator for Motorways of the Sea and is looking forward to a fruitful cooperation to further enhance the European maritime transport dimension and the role of European ports within the future Connecting Europe Facility and the TEN-T network.

The European Commission appointed three new TEN-T Corridor Coordinators, while the mandate of eight Coordinators has been extended. ESPO also welcomes the nomination of Ms Iveta Radičová for the Mediterranean Corridor and Ms Anne Elisabet Jensen for the Baltic–Adriatic Corridor. 

The European ports would like to thank the outgoing Coordinator Mr Brian Simpson and his team for their continuous efforts to strengthen the Motorways of the Sea dimension within the TEN-T framework. ESPO has highly appreciated the cooperative and open dialogue with Mr Simpson and his inclusive approach.

Prof. Kurt Bodewig has already gained ample experience in his previous mandate as the European Coordinator for the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor, which includes the ports of Gdynia/Gdansk, Szczecin/Swinoujscie, Trieste, Koper, Venice and Ravenna.
